I. Required Travel Documents

Do make sure that you keep at least 2 photocopies of your important documents. Below is the checklist of important documents that you must carry with you to Baoding:

1.Valid Passport and visa

2.Enough cash for your tuition fee and other service fees

3.Passport size photos (at least 6 copies)

You may also need to bring the following documents with you if you deem it necessary:

School transcripts

Personal bank statement

Reference/Recommendation letters

II. Upon Your Arrival

1.Getting to Hebei University (HBU) from the Airport

The most convenient way to get to HBU from the airport is by highway shuttle bus. The departure gate is as follows:

T3 Terminal Building, 1st floor, Gate3 for ticket, Gate1 for departure;

T2 Terminal Building, 1st floor, Gate15 for ticket and departure;

Launching Time (changeable based on seasons):

10:10; 11:10; 14:10; 16:10; 18:10; 20:10

Driving Time: About 3 hours  Ticket Price: 95 RMB

The highway shuttle bus will arrive at Baoding Railway Station. The best way to get to HBU is by taxi (inform the driver to the Main Campus); It may cost you 15-20 RMB. We provide pick-up service for the students that come to HBU for the first time.

2.Accommodation

Address: International Student Apartment, Hebei University, No. 180, Wusi East Road, Baoding.

Students are required to arrive in Baoding before the last day of registration (the registration period can be found in the offer letter). You are suggested to arrive in China during the registration period. Those who will be arriving late (no later than 2 weeks after the registration period) must write a letter to the Division of International Students via email or fax, informing the staff regarding the reasons of their late arrival.

On-campus housing at the International Student Apartment (Bailou in Pinyin) is available to students on the day of registration.

Note: International students are required to lodge at the International Student Apartment.

III. Having a Physical Examination

You also need to have a thorough medical check-up after you arrive at Baoding according to the regulation of Police Station; the fee is about 300 RMB.

Transportation: Take No. 63 bus to No.2 People’s Hospital or take a taxi at 15-20 RMB.

IV. Medical Insurance/Health Plan

All students are required to be medically insured throughout their entire planned period of study. Students must be insured at least with accidental injuries and hospitalization medical coverage. Keep in mind that students who do not have a valid medical insurance/health plan are not allowed to register.

You are suggested to purchase the Comprehensive Insurance Plan of Foreign Students provided by Ping An Insurance Company, which has been recognized and recommended by the Chinese Ministry of Education.

V. Registration of Your Residence at Local Police Station

In accordance with Rules for the Implementation of the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Control of the Entry and Exit of Foreigners, you must report and register your address within 24 hours upon your arrival to the local police station. If you live in a hotel temporarily, you do not need to do these until you find a permanent accommodation. Failing to register accommodation to the local police station will be served a warning or fined up to 500 RMB per day.
